ABOUT ME
GABRIELLE SHUBERT
Blogger, columnist, home chef, former museum director
This blog is about busy people cooking for picky eaters. It's also about making a life in small town Le Marche, Italy. Spending time in Italy has definitely influenced my cooking and given me a joyful love of fresh ingredients and simple cooking. Raising a picky daughter, caring for my 100 year old father, and having had a demanding job as a museum director for 24 years made me see that finicky eating in families runs the gamut from infant to ancient. And as a busy working mom, I've learned to make fast, healthy, delicious food that my kid would eat and my husband and I would enjoy. The gimmick in many of my recipes has to do with stopping and starting the process so that the fussy ones get something healthy and those who appreciate food get a dish that's subtle and adventurous. The Italian side of the blog is about acculturation-- trying to fit in with the warm but clannish Italian culture, the totally comical mistakes and observations we've made as foreigners, and the love we have for our tiny piece of paradise and our cherished neighbors and new friends.
Subscribe to my blog! I'll try to keep you smiling and eating well.
